A noteworthy Season

CRANBROOK
Town Band completed a successful season by winning a trophy at Southern
Counties Amateur Bands Association autumn contest at Folkestone.
The first prize Botrill Memorial Challenge Cup and £150 was presented
for the band's mail test piece Triptych, composed by Philip Sparke.
A new arrangement of the hymn Blaenwern won third place in
competition with bands from Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire.
The 32 band members come from wide area, including Tenterden and
the Weald.
Earlier the band was runner-up for the association's Band of the year
award. It has won more than £1,000 and 10 trophies in the last 5 years.
