Quiz Night
The band held its second quiz night of the year in the hall at Hawkhurst Primary school on Saturday 27th September. The event was well attended by about 60 people and everyone appeared to enjoy themselves. A fish and chip supper in the interval went down well and congratulations go to Solo Horn player Alan Smithers who brought along the winning team and the team who managed to come in behind all the others, winning the wooden spoon. Guess which of his teams Alan was on !
The evening raised £343 for band funds which is a healthy increase on the £234 from January’s event.

Children’s Rehearsal
The band played host to beginners from all over Kent when it invited youngsters from the area to attend a rehearsal evening in August. Aimed at giving the youngsters who were just learning an insight into playing in a band, the night went down well with youngsters and band members alike.
