The band are delighted to announce that we were able to raise £1000 for Demelza following the annual charity concert on Saturday 30th September.
This years concert was based on a film music theme and the audience were absolutely thrilled with what they heard and saw – so many came over at the end to speak with Ian that he was quite overwhelmed.
As usual, the concert included a number of solos, including three pieces which were performed publically for the first time by their respective soloists, Richard Warren, Vicky Mace and Geoff Collins.
The junior band started the second half, led by Robin Traves and the improvement since this time last year was remarkable. A couple of the juniors were also playing in their first concert with the main band which was great to see.
Finally, a big thanks go to our deps for the evening- Andy Stringer, Rosemary Woodger and Sian Lanceley all from BAE Systems Band, without whom we would really have struggled.
