Christmas Concerts

Wittersham

The Band performed its final indoor concert of 2017 last night at St John’s Church in Wittersham. The band played really well to a good sized and appreciative audience. As usual, all of the soloists were on fine form. Thanks to Dean Pelling and Andy Stringer for helping out.  Congratulations to David and Bryan for their Most Improved player Awards which they received at last week’s concert in Brede. The lady in the video may just have regretted being the first to shout out the name of a carol for the band to play!

Kilndown

The band’s quintet – which has a varying constitution depending on who is available, played for Kilndown Community Choir’s Christmas Concert in Kilndown Church during the evening of Saturday 9th December.  The church was packed to the rafters and the audience enjoyed a terrific concert by the members of the various choirs that go to make up the organisation.  The quintet played a few pieces beforehand and accompanied the carols as well as three solo spots where they played ‘Three Kings Swing’, a bolero arrangement of ”Little Drummer Boy’ and an uptempo arrangement of ‘Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer’.
