Our normal conductor, Ian Lanceley was playing with another band in the North of the Country in the Whit Friday March competitions so it was guest conductor John Groves who normally conducts the Kent Police band, who had the baton today.
Awarded Best Trombone Section Congratulations to Colin (Left), Hazel and John who scooped the prize for best Trombone Section at the SCABA Spring contest for the third time in recent years. In a hard fought contest, the band played Three Saints by Goff Richards. Adjudicator David Read awarded the Trombones the “Bob Ayling” Memorial cup.

Hazel Hemsley becomes Hazel Walsh And it was the bands pleasure to serenade the happy couple as they arrived for the reception at Great Maytham Hall in Rolvenden.
