Remembrance Sunday

Remembrance Sunday

The band was both delighted and honoured to once again lead Cranbrook’s Remembrance Parade. Having been cancelled in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic, on the day there was a large turn out in the town – not just in the parade itself, but also amongst the people lining the streets.

Prior to the Parade, the band played before and during the service in St. Dunstan’s, and as usual, provided a player for Last Post and Reveille. Leading the Parade, the band performed three marches on the way up to the War Memorial, provided hymns for the laying of the wreaths, repeated Last Post and Reveille and finally played four marches on the way back into the town.

All in all, it was both very rewarding and satisfying event to be a part of and the band is hoping to repeat it again in 2022. We are now looking forward to our busy Christmas period with several concerts including two “not-to-be-missed” festive concerts at St. Dunstan’s and St. Laurence Churches in December. There will also be plenty of carolling and hopefully the odd mince pie !
