Dave joined the band around 1996 with his daughter Emma.

Dave was a stalwart member of the band for many years, even turning up to play after a work accident with a severely damaged hand in 2007. Lucky for all, this injury soon mended and Dave continued to play without any lasting effects. Dave's metal working skills also came in very handy and he was in constant demand for making repairs to the bands music stands.

Dave retired from banding in 2021 after many seasons playing Repiano cornet with the band. His retirement was celebrated at the 2021 charity concert with guest performer Chris Thomas where he was presented with a parting gift by the bands MD, Ian Lanceley.
